Many years ago my grandmother, Rose, told me that her birthday is December 24 and she got married on December 26. Ok..so in my young mind I was thinking this chick was lucky. Talk about presents! plural. more than one. Right? no!! She told me she only got one gift for all three days. I was like -"you were ripped off" and she laughed and ageed.
But she made the choice to get marry on the 26th. As far as her birthday, she could not help that. That is not the point...she lost out no matter what. It was something to laugh about.
I miss my grandma Rose. She was one the most sweetest, kindest and sincere person. And no doubt a Christian. She loved the Lord so much. You can see it, hear it and know it by the way she acted and talked. There were no doubt she was a Christian.
Grandma would had been 102 years old and they would had been married 83 years. There married for 44 years when Grandpa died. She had to start a whole new life when he passed. She had to go back to work to survive. Plus help my brother for a short period too. She nd Grandpa took us in when my mother passed. they were like our second parents and she continued to be our mother like until the day she died.
She was one special kind of a lady.
So today, the 26th...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Grandma Rose (December 24)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Grandma & Grandpa Bird (December 25)
& HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Grandma Rose & Grandpa Richard Bird (Mr. & Mrs.Richard Bird Sr.) (December 26)
